VWA recruitment consultants know what it takes to succeed in this exciting and rewarding field of work. We have worked for many years with a number of private family offices who serve as advisors to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and the Royal Household.
Key skills for a Private PA include strong organisational abilities, excellent communication skills, discretion, and adaptability. They should be proficient in handling confidential information, managing multiple priorities, and anticipating the needs of their employer. Previous experience working as a private PA, particularly in a private household or executive setting, is often preferred. Employers value candidates who demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a service-orientated mindset. Additionally, these roles can often involve travelling to and from various locations so holding a driving licence is typically preferred.
Private PAs can work in various settings, including private residences, estates, yachts, or for high-net-worth individuals and families. These roles can be based at the employer’s office or more so at their home, and travelling in between various locations is common.
