About the Client:

VWA is recruiting for a boutique recruitment firm based in the West End, seeking a part-time Accounts Controller to join the team and report to the Finance Director.

This is a part-time role and the company can allow flexibility on how hours are worked across the week.

Accounts Controller Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with sales / purchase ledger daily
  • Maintain a strong relationship with customers and suppliers
  • Respond to client / supplier enquiries
  • Reconcile invoices as and when needed
  • Process sales receipts
  • Prepare client statements
  • Process supplier invoices and reconcile statements received
  • Making payments via Online banking for suppliers and payroll both Temp and Perm
  • Email remittances to contributors
  • Process staff expenses and company credit card purchases
  • Credit Control - chase payment from all debtors to maintain a clean current sales ledger
  • VAT Reconciliation and filing
  • Balancing Bank accounts
  • Calculate monthly payroll
  • Prepare Payroll journals for both Perm and Temp payroll
  • Ad-hoc duties as required by the Directors relating to office operations

Applicant Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a similar role and ideally from another small business environment
  • AAT qualified - Level 3 or 4 or working towards this qualification (or similar)
  • Sage 50 accounting systems experience (Essential)
  • Microsoft Office experience including Excel and Outlook
  • A strong self-starter who can work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to remain effective even when working under pressure
  • Honesty, integrity and reliability
  • Flexibility in approach and outlook when the situation demands

Additional Details:

  • Hours circa 16 per week (flexibility on how the remaining hours are worked across the week according to the candidate)
  • At least 4 hours per week to be office-based, working the remaining hours from home
  • Equipment provided - laptop, screen, work phone
  • 25 days' holiday pro rata + bank holidays
