The Client

VWA are excited to be working with a highly entrepreneurial and value-driven business within the insurance market; this international company is growing and looking to expand into further locations, with around 120 employees globally. The Founder has fostered a collaborative and non-hierarchical environment, with happy and empowered colleagues who work together with a real 'muck in' attitude. The HR team is supportive and are looking for a new team member to mentor and develop.

The HR Assistant role

A newly created role, this HR Assistant will join a small HR team based in the UK. Duties include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for HR related queries and to manage the team inbox, actioning or assigning work as appropriate
  • Updating the HR calendar with important events, impending deadlines, policy renewal dates etc.,
  • Assisting the team in recruitment processes, from organising interviews to collating feedback and liaising with recruitment partners
  • Support with onboarding and offboarding of colleagues
  • Managing our leave management system
  • Maintaining employee information and databases and ensuring all information is accurate and up to date
  • Managing the administration of staff benefits
  • Assisting with the collation of relevant documents such as performance management documents
  • Assisting with the global payroll, including the distribution of payroll-related documents
  • Supporting and contributing on all other HR-related projects or initiatives as they arise

Application Requirements

  • Some HR generalist exposure would be preferable - either in an HR role, or as part of a broader admin/support role
  • Strong administrative support experience
  • Highly proactive and productive within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Desire to embed into and contribute to a growing company

Additional Details

  • Salary up to 38K dependent on experience
  • Core hours 9am - 5pm with flexibility to work beyond hours as required
  • Hybrid working - at least 3 days in the office
  • Home-working equipment provided (laptop, screen etc.) with an additional desk assessment should further equipment be required
