The Psychology Behind VWA

The difference between an agency and a consultancy is engagement; we work with our clients and candidates to make matches that last, with a strong emphasis on fit. To maintain that ethos and continue to provide a consultative service, all potential VWA staff, regardless of the division and role for which they’re being considered, are put through a rigorous interview process. This encompasses their experience to date, thorough competency-based interviews and psychometric testing. The rigour of the process ensures that each team member has a proven track record and appropriate temperament. We work closely with our sister company VWA Consulting to identify candidates who have the empathy, tenacity and intuition to adopt the signature VWA approach.

The Selection Method


Your personal consultant will explore competencies and work-style preferences as we believe a clear understanding of your company culture is essential.


Both you and the candidate are fully briefed before meeting. Thorough feedback is obtained from both parties, which is relayed honestly and sensitively, while expectations and reactions are carefully managed.


Aside from our extensive database, we activate our established networks to target potential candidates. All applicants put through a rigorous screening process.


We negotiate a suitable compensation package and organise referencing. Your consultant will remain in contact with you and the candidate until the start date and beyond, to ensure a smooth transition.


All candidates undergo detailed biographical interviews in which their competencies are tested. Your consultant usually selects a maximum of four suitable people to present to you.
